Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach Sunset
This is a shot of Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach CA. I almost didn't get this shot first parking was bad on this paticular day and when we did find something it was a pretty far walk on Highway 1.
Then when we did get here there was a lot of portrait sessions going on so I didn't get to this spot until the sun had dropped into the top of the clouds. It appeared like the sun was not going to come out the bottom so I was getting ready to pack up and just as I was pulling the camera off the tripod the sun reappeared under the clouds and I was able to get the shot.

Palace Of Fine Arts Infrared
This is a one shot HDR image of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco California, we then converted it to infrared.
This is a really nice place in San Francisco to relax, take in the sun (when there is some), read a book, etc..

A Kiss Is Just A Kiss....
This is a HDR image of a statue that is in San Diego commemorating the famous kiss that took place celebrating the end of World War II.
This statue is huge, and can be found in the downtown area, the USS Midway Museum is behind the statue. In this area there are a few other statues including a Bob Hope statue entertaining the troops. Definitely check out this area if you are in town.

One Is The Loneliest Number
Here is a rework of an old image we had. It is a single HDR image of the Lone Cypress and converted it to Black & White via Silver Efex Pro 2.
We were not happy with the color image especially since it was a hazy day. So we tried to convert it to black and white and were more pleased with the results.

Stanford Memorial Church
This is a 7 shot HDR image of the church at Stanford, this was taken on a photo walk with Trey Ratcliff from StuckInCustoms.com
We decided to go on the photo walk hosted by Trey Ratcliff, there was a lot of people there, so many in fact that it is in the running for the largest photo walk ever. Eventually we decided to break off from the group since so many people were around it was hard to get a nice shot. The clouds were very nice on this night so we stopped by the church to get this photo.

Ferry Building
Here is a 3 shot HDR image of the inside of the San Francisco Ferry Building.
We were here one night for some dinner and we ended up being out past closing time, but they keep he doors open for awhile so we were able to grab this shot. The Ferry Building has a lot of nice restaurants, and produce. If you ever here be sure to check it out.

The Tower Of Terror
This is a 7 exposure HDR image of the Hollywood Tower of Terror and the Disneyland California Adventure Park.
Here is another version of the ride that we took this time in color. Again this was a difficult shot, because for some reason the camera on the tripod attracted people to walk towards it. Yes people do have to get around but they specifically walked towards the camera, go figure. Oh well we were still able to pull of a nice shot.

Partners...
This is a 7 shot HDR image of the Partners Statue at Disneyland.
This is a popular photo location inside Disneyland, just beyond Main Street. The statue is very creative, the creator Walt Disney, holding hands with his creation Mickey Mouse who built an empire together.

Wheel In The Sky
This is a 3 shot HDR image of the Santa Monica Pier.
This is really a nice area, the pier has rides and restaurants and the weather in the summertime is great to get away from the heat of the LA area. This was a perfect night for shooting as well, a not too cold evening with clear conditions. If you area ever in the area check this spot out.

Cannery Row
Well sort of, this is a 3 shot HDR image of a Cannery Row replica at Disneyland's California Adventure Park.
The whole park has different themes of California with replicas of different landmarks, this one can be found over in the food area. Some people might say the park is a little redundant being that it is in California, and some of these landmarks are only a few hour drive away, but we like it. This park also has for the most part the better rides of the two parks as well.

Come Stay With Us...
This is a 7 shot HDR, converted to B&W and then textures were added of the Twilight Tower of Terror at the California Adventure Park, in the Disneyland Resort.
We really wanted to get the theme of the ride, which was this is a 1930's Hollywood Hotel so we went for the old time look with the textures and B&W. This is such a fun ride, one of our favorites, couple interesting facts. First is the ride is randomized each time up, so the pattern of rise and falling is never the same. Second you are not dropped in the elevator, but instead pulled, which creates a bit of levitation, so cool. If you are here go on this ride!!!

In The Navy...
This is a 3 shot HDR of the USS Midway, a retired aircraft carrier in San Diego, California.
Really a neat thing you can do in San Diego, this is a museum and you can go through and tour the ship from top to bottom. You even get to climb up into the aircraft control tower, and see what it was like to command planes, how cool is that. If your ever in San Diego be sure and check this out.

When You Wish Upon A Star
This is a 3 shot HDR image of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.
This was shot from a little side area nobody seems to know about. While we were there shooting for about 20 minutes or so we only saw about 5 people walk by, which is a little surprising for Disneyland at this time of year. All the better to capture a nice scene like this and not be interrupted. The combination of a secluded spot, and proper settings on the camera made it fairly easy to capture this famous Disney landmark with no people in the shot.

Disney's California Dremin'
Here is a 7 shot HDR image of Disney's Paradise Pier, inside the California Adventure Theme Park at the Disneyland Resort.
We took a recent trip down south and this was one of our stops. Disneyland has so many interesting things to take pictures of, and they work will in HDR. This was shot from a little area next to a plant, just after the World of Color Show. So it provided a very nice view, with no people in it.

Rocket Man...
This is a 3 shot HDR image of a rocket sculpture in San Francisco.
This was a fantastic night for taking photos in San Francisco, the moon was full, and fast moving clouds really provided an excellent back drop for pictures, really a fun night to be out and shooting photos.
Take a look at what the HDR treatment does to a photo, below is an image that was shot at the proper exposure, and you can see that many parts you miss out on because the image is not exposed well in a lot of parts. In particular look at the sign that lights up, in the proper exposure you can't really see any of the deatail but the HDR you can. Also some of the legs of the rocket ship are washed out, but not in the HDR.

Bridge To The City
Sorry for the long time in between posts but we have been busy finding a place to move, hopefully we will be able to take more pictures and post regularly soon.
Here is a 5 shot HDR image of the San Francisco Bay Bridge, and some of the skyline of San Francisco.
This night was such a beautiful one in the city. A summer night but it felt as if it could have been a winter night as cold as it was. The clouds were just right as well, they hid the moon and made it very interesting. The clouds were moving so fast the scene changed very fast, such an interesting night!!

Doom and Gloom
This is a one shot HDR, and was then converted to Black & White, of downtown San Francisco. This was shot from a boat coming back from Alcatraz.
The day started off very nice and sunny, but on the way back from Alcatraz the weather changed to a gloomy feel. Converting it to B&W really brought out the gloominess of the day.

San Francisco in B&W
This is a 3 shot HDR image of Pier 7 in San Francisco, CA, we then converted it to B&W.
We spent a couple of nights in San Francisco back in March and the days and nights were very nice, and very clear. We have done a couple of shots of this Pier before but there are so many different things you can do in post process. There is so many lights on the dock it casts a bit of a yellow on the scene, so switching it to B&W we felt really takes that a way and gives the beauty of the scene.

Fort Point From Above
This is a 3 shot HDR image of Fort Point in San Francisco, California. This was shot from above on the Golden Gate Bridge. It is really quite fun to go over the Golden Gate Bridge, you can walk or if you prefer many places around Fisherman's Wharf offer bike rentals to bike across the bridge. On clear days you get nice views of the downtown skyline.

Like A Rolling Stone...
This is an HDR shot that was taken at the Hollywood and Highland Mall in Los Angeles, California. It was then converted to black and white via Silver Efex 2.
This is one of those shots you get lucky to stumble upon. We were walking around the mall, which has many great picture ops, so make sure you stop by if you are in the area. We walked out to this ad that was posted by Rolling Stone, which in itself was very interesting. Right in front of the ad was someone who was smoking, the pose, the dress all seemed to go with the style of the magazine.
