Welcome To Pike's Place
This is a shot of the entrance to Pike's Place in Seattle Washington.
I almost gave up on this shot, people kept walking into the frame, and not in area's that would add to the photo, they started leaving and then another group came and sat on the pig for the longest time. I had been waiting for about an hour for everyone to clear out and I was about 5 minutes from leaving, finally just as I was ready to pack it up and try another night I got an opening for a little while. It was a good thing too, the rest of the trip the far, in the farmers market sign was burned out.

Waiting To See Mr. Lincoln
This is a shot of the lobby of Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, at Disneyland.
The lobby is very nicely done, themed very well with portraits and busts of President Lincoln, it really sets the tone for seeing the show.

Disney Storytellers Statue
This is a shot of the Disney Storytellers Statue at the Disneyland California Adventure Park.
I would have liked to try different angles or even shooting closer to the statue rather then the wide angle I have here. But just as I was getting to my last shots here I felt security right over my shoulder and after the shots were finished up I was asked to leave the park. I do like the shot I got but it would have been interesting to try other setups, I guess I will have to try the next time I am in the park.
The statue is supposed to be when Walt Disney first arrived to Hollywood in the 1920's so I thought converting it to black and white would fit the mood.

The Great Wheel
This is a shot of the Seattle Great Wheel, this is the tallest observation wheel in the west coast at 175 feet.
This is really a nice ride to take, you get a full three spins on the wheel and you get a really nice view of the city at the peak, and the wheel extends out over the water so that is neat s well. I always like the effect long exposures have on photos like this, making a slow turning wheel appear as if it is spinning out of control.

Seattle From Kerry Park
This is a shot o the Seattle skyline shot from Kerry Park, it ended up being quite the interesting night.
For starters we caught a cab to the park, let the driver know we wanted to go to Kerry Park, which is a pretty famous place to visit, it was in our hotel room places to see, lots of pictures feature this view so I was not asking to go to some hard to find place. I tell the cabbie Kerry Park and his reaction, direct me. Well I had to address up on my phone so I was able to give it to him so he could put it in his GPS.
Once we were here and I was setting up for the shot, a woman in her 20s wanted me to take a picture of her with the skyline behind her, I thought sure no problem. Well she wanted to get on top of an electric box, so I thought ok. Then she wanted a photo shot of her jumping in the air on this box, well this box is on hill that has a pretty good slant on it so if she were to fall off while jumping things would not end well. I told her it was not a good idea but she insisted. I had problems getting her camera to go off at the right time so she had to jump a few times and sure enough she almost fell off the box, luckily she didn't and she did not want to try anymore after that.
Anyways if you happen to be in Seattle make sure you check out the park, all the photos and everything you get a good sense of what it's like but actually being there seeing the view is really nice.

Seattle 5th Avenue Theatre
This is a shot of the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. This theatre was near my hotel and it kept catching my eye every time I walked by so I decided to get a shot, it looks like a pretty nice venue to go see a show at.
The show that is featured on the marquee is Jersey Boys, this is a fantastic musical, if you ever get the chance to catch this show you should.

The Original Starbucks
Well sort of, the original location was moved in 1976 to this location and has been here ever since. Now a days this seems like its more for selling souvenir mugs and cups, they have tons of boxes in the store full of them. They do sell coffee as well and I got one just to say I got coffee at the original Starbucks.
This was quite the effort to get this shot, I was interested in getting the store front shot but there was always people in it, which would not have been so bad but there was so many people you could not really see much of the store. So I ended up having a late dinner in the area and decided to bring my tripod and camera so that I could stop by, worked out great. I got back to the hotel to upload everything to my computer and all the images on the card were gone. So I left the hotel made the 15 minute walk down here and reshot everything. Got back to the hotel and some of the images were corrupt, apparently I have a failing memory card, but luckily I had enough images to work with, I don't think I would have gone back a third time.
